It looks like the Gene for Chronic Lower Back Pain is located and researchers are trying to find new medications to block it. It is called HCN2. IF they find a safe way to block this gene, many patients with Chronic Lower Back Pain and Neuropathic lower back pain may find new hopes for treatment.

The McKenzie Method is also known as ‘mechanical diagnosis and therapy’ (MDT) and is a philosophy of active patient involvement and education whereby the patient learns to manage their pain themselves and to self-treat in some regards. Many physiotherapists use the McKenzie Method in their care of spinal stenosis patients as it can be helpful not only for back pain but also for neck and extremity problems caused by spinal abnormalities.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about gene therapy, lower back pain patients can count on chiropractors. Chiropractic is the best when it comes to aches and disorders concerning the spine.

That sounds great! This is the first I have heard of this. I have been through pretty much every treatment available and am willing to try anything to either eliminate (wishful thinking!) my low back pain or keep it to a minimum! (L5,S1 disc herniation, surgeries x 2)

Gene therapy is one of the best ways to treat any kind of pains or disorder. Stem cell transplant or therapy is much more effective but expensive. I hope that the medical team and scientist will be able to find the best ways to treat pains.
